SAN JOSE, Calif.—Seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts on Jan. 4 was a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience for real estate developer Lap Tang.
Tang, who is a principal of TWN Investments, said that “the performance is great.”
Rooted in traditional Chinese culture, Shen Yun brings 5,000 years of Chinese culture on stage in an exhilarating display of dance and music.
For Tang it was the history and the Chinese culture displayed in the performance that struck him most.
In contemporary China much of the authentic Chinese culture has been destroyed under communist rule. Founded in 2006, Shen Yun has the mission to revive the traditional Chinese culture. Shen Yun has seen rapid growth, with three companies, each with its own orchestra, reaching all corners of the globe.
Tang says that he will will encourage his friends and family to see the performance. “I will tell them the show is good; it is good to see,” Tang said.
New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world. Shen Yun’s Touring Company will be performing in San Jose through Jan. 6. For more information, visit ShenYunPerformingArts.org
