VANCOUVER, Canada—Having seen the performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts once in Toronto was enough to bring Alex Alexander all the way from Kamloops to Vancouver to see the renowned show once again.

“It’s amazing … the colours and the dances, very pretty,” said Mr. Alexander, a marketing and sales manager who made the trip from Kamloops to see the show with three others.

Mr. Alexander also praised the classical Chinese dance performances presented by Shen Yun, as well as the “amazing” discipline and the energy of the dancers.

“You can see how vibrant and alive [the dances] are,” he said, noting that the performances are peaceful at the same time.

“You can see it and feel it as well.”

Mr. Alexander said he also enjoyed the state-of-the art digital backdrops used in the show.

“It’s neat to be active a little bit. It’s very nice.”

The animated backdrops in Shen Yun are projected behind the dancers and help create different settings, from blossoming landscapes to celestial paradises.

Mr. Alexander said he will recommend to his friends that they come and watch the show as well.
