ATLANTA—Shen Yun Performing Arts’ revival of traditional Chinese culture was an educational and entertaining performance for Mr. Derek Reid, a chef, and Mr. Jerry Logan, an insurance agent, who attended the show at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Jan. 8.
“It was very entertaining,” said Mr. Reid. “A job well done. Very entertaining.”
Mr. Reid said he was fond of the arts and learning about traditional Chinese culture through Shen Yun.
The New York-based company presents the divinely inspired culture through traditional art forms like classical Chinese dance and an orchestra blending a classical western orchestra with traditional Chinese instruments.
Also in the audience was Mr. Stanley Donnell and Mrs. Amy Donnell, who is enamored with Asian culture and art and said she admired the spirituality of the Chinese culture presented.
“It was wonderful, it was beautiful,” Mrs. Donnell said. “The costumes were fantastic and the dancers were absolutely beautiful.”
Mr. Donnell, who retired from Siemens, said he thought the classical Chinese dancing was “phenomenal, and the choreography was out of this world. I would recommend it.”
Mr. Donnell said he would tell his friends that “they need to see it to believe it.”
