Edith Gus Peltinovich, a missing elderly woman with mental health issues, was found dead near the Don River in Toronto on Wednesday, it was reported.

She was last seen 1 p.m. on Monday after she went for a walk from her daughter’s home, reported GlobalNews.ca.

The body of Peltinovich, 72, was found in ankle-deep water in the Don River.

A local official said that she might have fallen into the river.

Peltinovich, who was described by authorities as having mental health issues, was visiting Toronto from her native Uruguay.

She was in Toronto since the start of October, visiting her family.

“She has mental problems and some memory problems,” Peltinovich’s daughter, Andrea Aplebaum, told the Toronto Star.
