HAMILTON, Canada—Photographer Ken Repasi was impressed by the visuals in Shen Yun Performing Arts after seeing the Sunday night show at Hamilton Place Theatre.
“Amazing. The composition with the background worked great, and I like how [the dancers] interacted with the background. It was exciting,” he said.
Shen Yun’s digital projections create vividly animated scenes that harmonize all aspects of the performance, costumes, characters, and even the music.
That music is presented by a live orchestra, which includes musicians playing the instruments of a Western philharmonic orchestra with others playing classical Chinese instruments leading the melodies.
“They were amazing, very good. I’d like to get some of that kind of music, it’s really nice,” Mr. Repasi said.
New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world. Shen Yun’s New York Company performed three shows in Hamilton Jan. 12-13 and is now heading to Toronto for five shows Jan. 17-20, completing its tour of eastern Canada.
