TAIPEI, Taiwan—The globally renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company had its first performance in Taiwan this year on Feb 20, bringing a brand new production to the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei. This was professional painter Chao Te-wan’s second time watching the performance, and she was very excited, “Shen Yun promotes the highest principles with art and shows us the spirit of world harmony.”
Ms. Chao was attracted to the vivid presentation of the world of gods in Shen Yun’s performance. “Seeing the soldiers and generals from heaven, I truly believed that I was in heaven that moment. I felt that every part of me was sublimating, including every single strand of my hair,” Ms. Chao touched her hair as she said this. “The feeling was like I must have had some kind of predestined relationship so that I was able to see Shen Yun.”
Ms. Chao has been attending various kinds of large-scale performances since she was 14 years old. “None of the shows have reached the realm of Shen Yun,” Ms. Chao commented.
Seeing the horrific calamity depicted in one dance, Divine Mercy, and how the divine beings restored the devastated world, Ms. Chao was amazed: “By now people should believe that there are divine beings above us who want to do good.”
Ms. Chao agreed with the old Chinese saying, “Writings are to carry the truth.” She raised her voice, “The highest principle is best when it’s formless. Shen Yun is the highest principle, it carries the highest principle of art and passes the spirit of world harmony.”
