DETROIT—Jack Schovnborn and his wife came to Shen Yun Performing Arts performance at the Detroit Opera House and found it to be fantastic.
“It’s fantastic,” Mr. Schovnborn, a sales engineer, said about the performance. “I think it is just beautiful.”
“It’s everything that I read that it was going to be,” he said. “The color and the costumes were just beautiful, just beautiful.”
Shen Yun is the premier classical Chinese dance company in the world. Classical Chinese dance has its own distinct dance system which places emphasis on aesthetic principles with its unique dance movements, rhythms, and inner meaning.
“I’m an engineer. That’s why I see the precision, I watched the precision. I see it, it’s fantastic, and their moves are very, very well coordinated.”
Three companies comprise New York-based Shen which travels around the world to approximately 100 cities in North and South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Shen Yun will be returning to many of the same prestigious venues, such as Washington, DC’s Kennedy Center and New York’s Lincoln Center.
As gifts, Mr. and Mrs. Schovnborn bought tickets for their daughter and son-in-law, and for newlyweds, their son and his bride who reside in Colorado. “I know they are going to enjoy it. I feel good about the gift now!”
