NASHVILLE, Tenn.—State representative Joshua Evans was impressed with Shen Yun’s ability to present traditional Chinese culture across the world at the Tennessee Performing Arts in Nashville, Tenn. on Feb. 16.
“This is really unique, I don’t think a lot of people get to see this type of thing very often and it’s a great experience, from the arts and cultural standpoint, to allow people here in the states to be able to see this type of history and this type of cultural event,” Rep. Evans said.
Mr. Evans is heavily involved in his community, including serving as a board member for the Springfield Rotary Club, GreenRidge Civitan Club, and multiple historical societies.
Mr. Evans said many people in the states might not “have very much of any of a picture of the history and the present culture of China,” but the New York-based production was “eye-opening to see.”
“I think anytime you can expose more people to the history and culture that you have, the more that can be carried on, the more people can understand about the culture and the people so, I think that’s important,” Mr. Evans said.
“It’s all tremendous talents, all of it is really well done,” Mr. Evans said.
