MONTREAL—Claude Darmond, the owner of Orchidée Cleaning Services, visited the Place des Arts this Saturday night where he enjoyed the show with his wife Gladys Darmond.
“It was a beautiful show” he said during his visit. It was the first time for Mr. Darmond to see the show.
Shen Yun is a New York based company that was established seven years ago with a mission to revive traditional Chinese culture through song and dance. Along with the dancers, the hi-tech backdrops and props, each of the company’s three touring groups also includes a live orchestra as they circle the world.
“It’s just gorgeous. I love the music also,” he said.
Mr. Darmond found the historical aspect of the show the most interesting, saying that he likes the history of Chinese people.
Shen Yun uses the sometimes vividly documented 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization as a source of material for its story-based dances.
“Shen Yun uses performing arts to present stories that bring to life the inner essence of China’s divinely inspired culture,” the company’s website writes.
He said he will encourage his friends to watch the show. “I will suggest [for] them to come, absolutely,” he said.
