TAIPEI, Taiwan—“The material values the younger generation is pursuing nowadays (in Taiwan) are similar to the materialism in China,” Chairman of the board of directors of a leading financial group in Taiwan Wu Dongming said. “It is for this reason that we should widely promote the spirit of the Chinese culture. Therefore, it is great to see excellent performing arts companies such as Shen Yun Performing Arts tour the world, so as to influence the general public by way of these performances.”
He added that Shen Yun’s continuous performances can lead to a more harmonious world.
New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts is once again invited to perform in Taiwan starting February 20, 2013. The premiere show was presented at Taipei’s National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial. After appreciating the five thousand years of the Chinese civilization demonstrated by Shen Yun, many audience members beamed with joyousness on their faces.
Praising Shen Yun’s promotion of the spirit of the divinely inspired Chinese culture, Chairman Wu expressed that ethics and morality are among the values that are especially worth promoting in society. He cited that these two values are especially lacking in mainland China, as they were destroyed during the Great Cultural Revolution; therefore, we should try our best to promote them.
Mr. Wu shared his feelings about the beauty of the Chinese culture portrayed by Shen Yun, saying, “While many people only see Western arts, Shen Yun represents the beauty of Oriental classic arts, such as the gracefulness and magnificence in costumes, colors, palaces and royal families.”
After Shen Yun’s performance concluded, Mr. Wu said happily that people should pursue true sincerity, abundant compassion, and pure beauty.”
