SAN FRANCISCO—Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley co-founder and philanthropist Anita Del Grande returned to see Shen Yun Performing Arts’ all new 2013 performance in San Francisco Thursday night at the SHN Orpheum Theatre.
“I love it; it’s beautiful,” Mrs. Del Grande said of the show.
Mrs. Del Grande said she was struck by the opening scene, Descending to the World. The opening dance told of the legend of the creator descending to earth with countless gods and goddesses, setting in motion 5,000 years of Chinese culture.
“Wonderful, beautiful costumes, beautiful, they’re … floating,” Mrs. Del Grande said.
Mrs. Del Grande was impressed with the technique of Shen Yun’s dancers, who perform classical Chinese dance along with ethnic and folk dances from the many regions and ethnicities of China.
She attended the show with a friend and fellow Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley staff member, and said she would be recommending Shen Yun to even more people.
“They must see it,” Mrs. Del Grande said.
