A streak of light believed to be an UFO was caught on camera above Fort Worth, Texas by local television station KXAS at 5:40 a.m on July 25.
Watched on live television, the UFO zoomed down rapidly from the top of of the screen, appeared to stop when it hit land, and then exited to the right at approximately a 45 degree angle.
KXAS contacted UFO investigators to review the footage, and invited viewers to send in their comments as to what the object could be.
“It looks like a bug of some kind, or possibly a small bird or bat flying near the camera. Sorry, no UFO here,” wrote viewer Gabriel Almendarez on KXAS’s website.
However, Fort Worth residents awake at the time saw the light shooting through the sky with their naked eyes.
“I was sitting outside my neighbors house and saw the flash of light in the sky go over the trees. Bill my neighbor saw it too,” commented local viewer Richard Boykin on the site.Robert Kessler, Senior Systems Engineer at CSS, pointed out that the UFO could be a meteor. The Perseid, Delta Aquarid and Alpha Capricornid meteor showers are all active at the moment.
“This looks more like a meteor that has reached the Earth’s atmosphere but due to the severe stress of gravity at hyper speeds has been redirected,” he wrote on the website.
