It has been in the past ten years that I have learned that we, the people of the world, have not progressed from the infamy and the horrors of the concentration camps, death camps, and crematoriums that were widely utilized by the leaders of the Third Reich in World War II. Horrors so vast, so widespread, suffered by so many millions of innocents that it shocks the imagination and cannot be described adequately with mere words.

Weren't these atrocities and foul deeds condemned to a history that was never to be resurrected?

Apparently not. Credible sources advise that the horrors of the past have not been put to rest. The camps are with us still, not only one but there are many.

Belatedly, we are now discovering, bit-by-bit, piece-by-piece that the horrors do remain with us and, indeed, have made progress. Yes, the dread concentration camps are still with us, the killing and torturing of the innocents still continues. The demon that once was a Dr. Mengle has now metamorphosed into something much more vile.

Over the past years I have read many newspaper articles about Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) and have seen numerous photographs showing members in China who have been subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment including the most heinous torture, persecution and, in some instances, execution. This group was illegally prohibited in the People’s Republic of China in 1999.

To the best of my knowledge, the P.R.C. is the only nation in the world that will not recognize Falun Gong—a loosely based group that individually or with others practices a series of gentle exercises and meditation. They stand for and promote Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance for everyone.

In the past ten years unknown thousands have been subjected to all forms of brutality, from obscene beatings to years of imprisonment, even to starvation and murder. The world has learned of the forceful mutilation of live victims and the removal of organs for transplantation in China and other countries.

Mr. President, you may have knowledge of this group of individuals that has a world-wide membership that numbers in the high millions. There are many practitioners in the United States including Chinese and Westerners. They are not political and bear no threat to anyone.

There are thousands and thousands of men, women and even children who do not combat the leadership but merely wish to exist, study, deep meditate, and listen to their own “drummer.” (For more information please go to www.faluninfo.net or www.falundafa.org.)

As President of this great nation, may I appeal to you to personally verify my allegations and seek a remedy.

Yes, I am more than aware of the tremendous responsibilities that you shoulder and have great respect for the work that you do but it distresses me greatly to see so many innocent people suffering needlessly.

Please, please be aware that this peaceful group bears the brunt of these various persecutions. This year marks the 10th anniversary of persecution by the Peoples Republic of China.

Mr. President, as the leader of the greatest nation in the world, what do you propose to do to alleviate the suffering of vast numbers of Chinese innocents? There are millions of Americans and people around the world who feel as I do and are waiting to see what you will do to rectify this situation.

Please expand your knowledge and let President Hu Jintao know that you are acquainted with the evil that exists in his country and that such atrocities must be stopped and must not be allowed anywhere on this earth.

Please use the power of your office to intercede.

Please do not sit idly by and ignore the suffering of innocents.

Please do not continue to conduct “business as usual.”
