New Dolphins logo: The Miami Dolphins on Wednesday confirmed it has a new logo.

The new Miami Dolphins logo--the one that eschews the old, helmet-wearing dolphin design--leaked in a photo last week was confirmed by the team, multiple media reports said on Wednesday.

The Miami Herald reported that the logo, which features an orange burst with more spikes and a more sleek-looking dolphin, is the new design. The face mask for the team’s helmets will also change to all white for the first time in the team’s history.

The new logo will be officially rolled out on April 25, the first day of the draft.

“It was leaked by somebody at Nike,” Dolphins CEO Mike Dee told the Orlando Sun-Sentinel on Wednesday. “We had always had a plan to kind of roll it out over a 30-day period so we’re going to start rolling it out. But the logo is only one part of the announcement. It’s a complete re-branding of the team.”

The old logo was unveiled in 1995.

Dolphins defensive end Jared Odrick tweeted on Wednesday that he got a “whole new wardrobe,” and he later tweeted out a picture of himself wearing a white shirt with the new logo.

“Stopped at my locker today and found a whole new wardrobe. I may just have to wear this NEW STUFF ALL WEEK,” he wrote in full.
