Food is about life, yet it’s also about bringing people together and sharing special occasions. In fact, one of the top occasions that brings people together to share a meal every year is Thanksgiving.

But what if you’re away from home in New York City, or the idea of cooking a turkey with all the fixings for two is too much? There is no reason you should forgo celebrating the holiday and miss out on a delicious turkey dinner like mom’s or dad’s.

Greenwich Village -- Cafe Español

West Village -- Philip Marie
Located at 569 Hudson Street, they are serving turkey and all the trimmings for Thanksgiving dinner, $39.50 per person. All guests will receive a leftovers take-home package. For reservations call (212) 242-6200.

Little Italy -- La Mela
Located at 167 Mulberry Street, they are serving their usual Italian family-style meals, but with a Thanksgiving Turkey twist; For example, family-style choice 3 is a seven-course meal and includes unlimited wine, beer, and refreshments, $54 per person (minimum two people.) Midtown -- at Vermilion
Located at 480 Lexington Avenue, they are serving a Latin-Indian five-course dinner, $55 per person. Featuring smoky, black cardamom turkey, yucca cake, spinach cranberries, tres leches dessert, and more. Vegetarian dinner also offered. For reservations call (212) 871-6600.

East Village -- Tree Bistro

Located at 370 Manor Lane in Riverhead, N.Y., they are serving Thanksgiving dinner all day starting at noon, $60 per person. Young diners menu is available, $30 per child.
