Irish Coffee for St Pat's Day. (Cat Rooney/The Epoch Times)

Irish Coffee for St Pat's Day. (Cat Rooney/The Epoch Times)

Makes 1 serving

Brewed strong black coffee
Whipping cream
3 sugar cubes
28 g (1 oz) Irish whiskey, Irish cream liqueur, or Irish crème flavoured non-dairy creamer (optional)

Brew coffee. Lightly whip cream with mixer. Pour very hot water or boiling water over glass coffee cups, and then pour out any water in glass and wipe outside of glass. Be careful as glasses are hot! Place sugar cubes in glass. Fill glass three quarters full with hot coffee. Pour in whiskey or liqueur, or several scoops of non-dairy creamer and stir creamer. Top with 1 cm (1/2-inch) of cream piled on the back of a spoon and slide into the glass to assure it floats. Enjoy and do not forget to raise your glass in thanks with an Irish

toast or blessing.
