A BART fatality stalled train service on the Richmond line on Tuesday, according to reports. Fausto Delgado, 16, was identified as the person who died on the BART tracks.

It is believed to have been a suicide.

ABC-7 reported that the El Cerrito del Norte station was closed down as a result.

There were system-wide delays for about five or 10 minutes.

Officials say the incident is under investgation.

Delgado “was very well-loved,” said Marin Trujillo, spokesman for the West Contra Costa Unified School District, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. We’re doing everything we can to make sure that the students get the help that they need, as well as the family.”

School psychologists were at the high school where Delgado went to counsel students.

The Chronicle noted that the circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately clear.
