BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—Ballerina, Ms. Dalessandro, was touched by the way 5,000 years of history could be viewed in a moment, through all the expressions of Chinese classical dance.
“I am referring to not only the preciseness of the movements,” she said, “but the expression of the family, the sorrow and suffering. It is very moving.”
Ms. Dalessandro attended Shen Yun Performing Art's seventh show at the Auditorio Belgrano, Buenos Aires on Saturday afternoon.
“I am very touched to see such a spectacle,” she said. “It is very poetic, such fine art, and the dexterity is extraordinary.”
The spiritual component of the show touched Ms. Dalessandro. China's 5,000 years of culture was full of belief in the divine and traditional values—and these were portrayed by Shen Yun through stories on stage.
“What I understood is that I need hope and truthfulness to find the true path to what I am missing in my life.”
Ms. Dalessandro has danced since she was very young—from classic dance, to Spanish dance, and later jazz, tap, and flamenco.
“From a professional perspective, I am moved by the performers. I love arts, but specifically the dance. I practice dance and I enjoyed seeing it live.”
“There is so much art; the tenor, the interpretation of the piano, and everything is engulfed with an ethnic sentiment.”
The intricate hand movements stood out for Ms. Dalessandro. “Everything was so exact.”
“I would like to tell the Shen Yun performers to continue expressing brilliantly with the same sentiment, concentration, virtue, wholeness, and love, love for the arts.
“This show is not to be missed!”
Costumes Wow Teacher, Technician
For German teacher, Ziket, the intricacy of the costumes stood out.
“Yes a lot ... with those colors, and with that needlework in the costumes, and the women’s clothes, and how they dance, I liked it a lot,” she said.
“I loved that dance with the flowers ... the colors of the ladies are very, very nice—it was Spring for me."
Ziket was referring to Welcoming Spring, a festive dance with quick steps and bright bursts of color.
“And I liked more those drums, they are superb.”
Mr. Prosa, a computer technician, was also captivated with the beautiful costumes throughout the performances.
“Very attractive, very colorful,” he said. It's kind of what one always has in their mind, the idea of a Chinese culture movie etc, but to see it in a theater ... the impact is a lot more powerful.”
Shen Yun will be performing in Buenos Aires until July 5. Santiago, Chile, will host three shows from July 10 to 12. The show will then return to Argentina on July 16, this time in Cordoba, performing three shows until July 18.
