BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—The audience at the Auditoria Belgrano in Buenos Aires was mesmerized, as audiences worldwide have been all year.

The New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts show brought to Latin Americans true traditional Chinese culture. The beauty, the gifted dancers, the dazzling colors of the costumes, the orchestra and the scenes were a gift to South America.

Mr. Wullich, a prominent journalist and the host of a classical music radio program, was glad to have garnered a ticket for the show.

"I think the show in terms of presentation, image, above all the color, the costumes, the whole question of the projection, is truly impressive," he said.

The artists brought 5,000 years of Chinese history, from past to present, to the stage.

Mr. Wullich said it was exciting to see “true folklore, tradition and to be told the reasons why an issue is important. This severe issue that is happening to these people that practice Falun Dafa, which is totally unknown to us. It is important to know [about the persecution]. It is a very interesting show, not only to enjoy, but also to learn something else about the traditions that, for us, are so far away," he said wistfully.

Two of the performances depict the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Dafa, a traditional Chinese spiritual practice based on truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

In Dignity and Compassion, a Falun Dafa prisoner of conscience suffers extreme persecution. One of her guards objects to the brutal way the other guards behave towards her. He fall asleep and has a vision that he is about to be killed for his part in her mistreatment.

She intercedes on his behalf, showing the dignity and compassion of the title.

Mr. Wullich continued after some thought, "Personally I was touched by the acts that depicted the persecution."

There was much in the show that was amazing to our audience member.

“What I really like and enjoyed most, is the whole choreographic experience—it was just very different, including some aerial movements,” he said. “And besides the music, all the costumes are magnificent, the colors and all that.

“So it is a good show, it is something to experience.”

"All the acts that used drums are very close to the Eastern traditions,” he said, “and all the original dances are very appealing.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Buenos Aires until July 5. Santiago, Chile, will host three shows from July 10 to 12. The show will then return to Argentina on July 16, this time in Cordoba, performing three shows until July 18.
