BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—The fifth Shen Yun Performing Arts show at Auditorio Belgrano was filled to almost capacity on Wednesday July 1. Mr. Villar, a director of financial projects in the Ministry of Economy and Production, and his wife, however, managed to find two seats up the front.

“Well, it really caught my attention, really. It’s very, very important,” said Mr. Villar. “I can see the great efforts that all the dancers are making. I’ve had the opportunity to come into contact with Chinese culture on various occasions, but this, really, I’ve never seen this before.”

“What I very much liked was the drummers, the dance of the drummers [Drummers of the Tang Court]. Really, I liked it a lot … the coordination in the movements, how they hit the drums at the same time.”

Mr. Villar found out about Shen Yun from The Epoch Times, which he receives in his office.

His wife was also highly impressed with the performance: “It’s good, I like it, I like seeing this Chinese classical dance. I wasn’t familiar with this before, and it stuns me to see these traditions, to find out more about Chinese culture,” she said.

Which was her favourite dance? “They’re all different,” she said, “and each one has its charm.”

It was the spiritual message they perceived in the show that most impressed the couple, however. Mr. Villar talked about the performance Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution in this regard: “He was killed for his beliefs, and later it’s like a divine force came to find him, I don’t know how to describe it. This interested me greatly, I saw the spiritual theme here.”

The performance featured a practitioner of the Falun Gong discipline who was killed for his beliefs by agents of the Chinese Communist Party.

When asked how this scene made her feel, Mrs. Villar let out a sigh, saying “That we do not only stay in this world that we see, and not to lose contact with the invisible world, right? With that realm, with wisdom, and with guidance.

"It wasn’t only in the one act, either: “I think above all the movements, the movements they do, the positions of the hands, how they move, how they dance, I saw the spiritual aspects.

“What they are transmitting has a spiritual foundation. I thought this was important, and it was visible in all of it, you could see it in everything.”

Will Mr. Villar recommend Shen Yun to his friends? “Totally. Yes, yes, absolutely yes.”
