Shen Yun Performing Arts wowed theatergoers with the sights and sounds of authentic Chinese culture and stories in Providence on Tuesday.
"I just loved it," Mrs. James Keller said after watching the performance with her husband at the Providence Performing Arts Center on Tuesday evening.
“[I'm] very impressed, with the choreography, with the precision and the gracefulness of the show. And the music was great,” John Dunn said.

Ms. Mann said it was wonderful that Shen Yun could depict 5,000 years of Chinese history through the medium of dance.
“The colors when the curtains come up—it’s like the sun just rose. It’s beautiful.” She called the colors the performers were wearing “absolutely exquisite.”
Xiao Yen and her mother loved the costumes.
"Downtown was alive tonight because the theatre was filled with people who have left here having really enjoyed a magical evening," Mayor David Cicilline said.
Shen Yun left Mr. Tetrault with a feeling of “peace and balance.”
Mrs. Lawrence said Shen Yun “was over and beyond anything I could have ever expected.”
"I think it was a message of tranquility and peace, and a search for something higher than how we live on earth, and that was I thought very inspiring."

Mr. Liossis also enjoyed the solo vocalists. "It was very nice. I understood the lyrics on the screen, they were very touching," he said.
For David Slocum, one of the founding members of the CNY Ballet Company, Shen Yun was an entirely new experience.
Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater on May 12, delighting the audience with a revival of the oldest culture in the world.
“It lifts my spirit,” Carol Smith said. “I'm absolutely changed by the music.”
“I think it's wonderful just how 'classic' it is,” said Dr. Scharoun of Shen Yun. “I'm really starting to understand a lot of the history of China through the dance.”
Shen Yun Performing Arts presented a revival of the 5,000-year-old Chinese culture at the The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater Sunday night.
Ms. Catherine Koch said the singing was “powerful” and said she hadn't heard the style used by Chinese singers before. “That was really awesome,” she said. “I loved it.”
Mrs. Gao deeply appreciated many aspects of the performance. She said "The orchestra was great! The dancing was excellent. The singing was also awesome."
“I loved the dancing. I love the colors,” Dr. Authur Ostrowski said of the May 12 performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company at the Cadillac Palace Theater.
Dr. Robert Gasior was impressed by the opening number, Descending to the World, and said, "It was superb, I thought everything—was quite excellent."
