Ms. Walsh praised the movements of the Shen Yun dancers and said she was “studying” the jumps.
"Anyone should be willing to listen ... that way the world will be a better place for us all.”
Mrs. Free had been looking forward to Shen Yun's arrival in Birmingham.
Shen Yun Performing Arts dance company staged its first show in Birmingham on Friday August 21.
Mrs. York said: “I enjoyed the show tonight, I really did. It was an eye opener for me.”
A musician praised Shen Yun for its amazing choreography and flawless multimedia presentation.
Mr. Lewis, owner of a local weekly newspaper, had been enthusiastic about the Shen Yun Performing Arts show coming to his city and had been promoting the show in his paper.
“I feel honored that you shared this with us and let us in on your culture and heritage."
Internationally acclaimed Shen Yun performed in the southern U.S. city of Birmingham on Friday night, Aug. 21.
Dignitaries welcome the artists. Civic groups, elected officials and businesses support Shen Yun.
The first audience member to rise, clapping, stood despite a cue from his companion to not stand out from the crowd.
"I love water—that was so therapeutic. I really enjoyed it. I had a great time.”
“We're very blessed to see that,” said Mr. Clemons, “not everybody gets to do that.”
