Enjoying the performance was engineer Ismael Cinar who is working in Istanbul as a site manager for his Washington-based construction company.
On Friday, May 21, a new cultural dimension of "East meets West" arrived in the capital of Turkey.
It was the first time the New York-based Shen Yun was presented in Istanbul and those who saw the performance raved about its beauty.
Mr. Copur spoke of “a sense of the balance in the show,” and beamed, “I'm impressed!”
Istanbul warmly welcomed New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company to the city on Friday, May 21, at the magnificent Anadolu Auditorium.
Mr. Mehmet Büyükfirat, came to see Shen Yun with his friend Mrs. Gülzan Aybasti. He said that he always felt a big connection with Chinese culture.

Mr. Liossis also enjoyed the solo vocalists. "It was very nice. I understood the lyrics on the screen, they were very touching," he said.
For David Slocum, one of the founding members of the CNY Ballet Company, Shen Yun was an entirely new experience.
Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater on May 12, delighting the audience with a revival of the oldest culture in the world.
“It lifts my spirit,” Carol Smith said. “I'm absolutely changed by the music.”
“I think it's wonderful just how 'classic' it is,” said Dr. Scharoun of Shen Yun. “I'm really starting to understand a lot of the history of China through the dance.”
Shen Yun Performing Arts presented a revival of the 5,000-year-old Chinese culture at the The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater Sunday night.
Ms. Catherine Koch said the singing was “powerful” and said she hadn't heard the style used by Chinese singers before. “That was really awesome,” she said. “I loved it.”
Mrs. Gao deeply appreciated many aspects of the performance. She said "The orchestra was great! The dancing was excellent. The singing was also awesome."
“I loved the dancing. I love the colors,” Dr. Authur Ostrowski said of the May 12 performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company at the Cadillac Palace Theater.
Dr. Robert Gasior was impressed by the opening number, Descending to the World, and said, "It was superb, I thought everything—was quite excellent."
