The New York Jets (4–4) slumped to another loss, going down 30–25 at the Meadowlands, to the Miami Dolphins (3–5). With only 104 yards of net offense, the Dolphins relied on two kickoff return touchdowns from Ted Ginn Jr. and a fumble return touchdown by Jason Taylor to win the game. Mark Sanchez had one of his better starts of the season for the Jets, throwing two TDs and no picks. The Jets racked up 378 yards of total offense but fell apart on special teams.

The Indianapolis Colts (7–0) are now the only unbeaten team in the AFC after they struggled to an 18–14 victory over the plucky San Francisco 49ers (3–4). Despite throwing for 348 yards, Peyton Manning didn’t have a TD pass. Indy trailed after three quarters 14–12 but took the lead early in the fourth when running back Joseph Addai threw a 22-yard pass to Reggie Wayne.
