The 109,000 tonne megaliner Star Princess is doing her bit to keep the local economy afloat.
Her arrival at Sydney's Circular Quay on Saturday morning heralded the start of the cruising season for the city.
Perhaps of more relevance to Sydneysiders is the fact the megaliner and its passengers will pump $1 million into the local economy during her 14 hour stay
Most of the income is generated through passenger and crew spending, port fees and refilling the ship's stores.
Star Princess arrived in Sydney at 7am (AEDT) after a 30 day trans-Pacific cruise from San Francisco.
She is scheduled to depart for New Zealand at 9pm for the start of a 30-day South Pacific cruise ending in Los Angeles.
The ship is twice the size of the Titanic, has a glass-walled nightclub and carries 3,700 passengers and crew.
