TORONTO—Mr. Cheng, an ethnic Chinese who has been in Canada for seven years, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Canon Theatre on Sunday afternoon with some friends.
“The show was very nice, truly nice. Every program was good, truly wonderful,” he said.
Shen Yun portrays China's 5,000 years-old history and culture it through classical Chinese dance, an ancient art form. The show also features also leading musical soloists and a full symphony orchestra that blends traditional Chinese and Western instruments.
“At this time and age, that we can see a show like this—it’s hard to come by,” said Mr. Cheng, adding that Shen Yun’s depiction of Chinese culture and ethical values made him “very proud.”
“Seeing so many people here is beyond my expectations. The show was very well done, up to the standard.”
New York-based Shen Yun is scheduled to return to Canada in January with its all-new 2010 program. For more information visit www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org .
