TORONTO—Shen Yun Performing Arts was deeply moving for a poet who took in the classical Chinese dance company's Toronto performance on Sunday.

"It’s heavenly and angelic and I just can’t find the words for it. It evokes a lot of emotion inside my soul, my heart. You get a sense of peace and loving. It’s what the world should be like," said Mr. Knor.

Shen Yun presents Chinese culture and history through its dance and music performances. The New York-based the dance company is known for its emphasis on virtues like compassion, honesty, and fortitude. Such virtues are common themes throughout many of the show’s dances.

"I have been telling everyone. It has been just so outstanding. It just makes me feel so wonderful inside and I enjoyed everything. The colorful costumes, the music, the dance, the singing—it’s out of this world. It’s very uplifting and joyful.”

When asked how he would describe the artistic quality of the dance and music, Knor said, "The word I would use is outrageous, meaning they’re just so good, so professional. It’s just a delight to watch everything and to listen to the music.”

He said he was very thankful for the “outstanding effort by everybody” involved.

"I just want to thank everyone from Shen Yun for organizing this and putting this on. I certainly intend to tell my friends about this and next time I come to bring a few more people.”

Shen Yun wrapped up its latest Toronto run with that performance but is scheduled to return in January with its all-new 2010 program. For more information, visit www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org .
