TORONTO—Mr. Wang, who lives in a small city in southwest Ontario, traveled to Toronto (a three-hour drive) to see the final Shen Yun Performing Arts show at the Canon Theatre on Sunday afternoon.

“All the performers are very professional, including the dancers and singers. The show is very well done. Shenyun makes people pursue good things, inspiring people to have compassion. That is very good,” he said during the intermission.

Mr. Wang described the innovative animated backdrop as “magnificent,” adding the he also enjoyed the orchestra, which combines Western and Chinese instruments.

“The orchestra is very good, they are very professional. I found that the orchestra, dancers, and the backdrops are well coordinated. I am not a professional in the arts, but to me it is very well done and coordinated.”

Mr. Wang, who brought his wife and child to the show, said he had heard a lot about Shen Yun and wanted to see it, but the family was deterred by the long trip to Toronto.

“That is why this is the first time we’ve seen Shen Yun. This time, we made up our minds to come and see it, and I feel it was well worth the trip.”

Next time, there won’t be a need to travel all the way to Toronto, as the show will be playing closer to his area when it returns to Canada in 2010, he said.

“I know that Shen Yun will have shows in Hamilton and Waterloo early next year, and I will take my family to either of those two cities, but probably will not come to Toronto again.”

New York-based Shen Yun is scheduled to return to Canada in January with its all-new 2010 program. For more information visit www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org .
