UNITED NATIONS—Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Wednesday the United Nations should demand that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya be reinstated.

Speaking to reporters before the opening of the U.N. General Assembly in New York, Chavez described Zelaya's return to the Honduran capital this week as courageous.

"The United Nations should demand that Zelaya be reinstated to government again," Chavez said. (etRelated 22819, 22788, 20360}
