Many in the audience appreciated the high caliber of Shen Yuns performance.

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Mr. Bell, a graphic designer, attended Shen Yun Performing Arts presentation on opening night, Sept. 4, at the Greensboro War Memorial Auditorium.

"I am very impressed, very impressed. It was very elegant and beautiful. The style of the dance is very classic and very nice, yes," he said, at intermission.

China's divinely-inspired 5,000-year history from past to present was played out in dance, music and song against a 3D digital backdrop of panoramic views, and live orchestral music to match.

Mr. Bell searched for the right words to express what he had seen.

"I really like it, it was ... it was great, the variety of colors that they used. Very artistic. It was very nice."

He was particularly impressed with the backdrop.

"I thought that it was a very good use of the technology—motion graphics intertwined with actual people dancing, and that was very nice. It’s very good."

Banker Praises Shen Yun

Beth, a banker, and Frank, a realtor, were also in attendance Friday night and particularly appreciated the high caliber of Shen Yun’s performance.

"Very athletic, beautiful fabrics, and the movement of the fabric is beautiful, said Beth.

“Lots of smiles," added Frank.

“Loved that,” said Beth. "I enjoyed during each performance focusing on one person and trying to follow them all around the floor. That was really a lot of fun because we’re up close so we can see very well."

Neither had been exposed to Chinese culture before, so this was a fascinating experience.

Frank enjoyed the diversity of the culture.

" Like the gentleman who was torn between fighting for his country and leaving his mother [The Loyalty of Yue Fei], that was really interesting”, said Beth.

Frank noted the strong commitment to the country that was expressed in the story. ‘That’s kind of different from the United States,” he said.

Shen Yun Performing Arts will next perform two shows on September 19-20 in Portland, Maine.
