There is one issue that President Obama has not discussed at all, or appointed a Czar to take over, and that is the question of Social Security survivability.

Does the fact that this has not been an issue since his taking over presidency mean that he is confident that no help is needed for the survival of the program over the next twenty-five to thirty years? With almost ten percent unemployment there must be a dramatic decrease in the contributions coming in to the treasury department. Should unemployment go even higher than nine and a half percent, the contributor funds will be even lower.

One wonders whether or not existing payments to those who are retired and other recipients can be maintained at their usual level. Where are the jobs going to come from to put the unemployed to work? The answer may be found if we can pose social security taxes on those workers who are working offshore around the world for American corporations.

Another way to restore the number of workers would be by providing all the illegal immigrants temporary work cards. But the fact remains that there are no jobs for the nine and half percent unemployed, how will minimum wage jobs be found for those workers legally put into the work force?

I realize that Obama has enough on his mind to keep him busy for the next eight years, but he must include fixing social security NOW! Obama can’t do it alone—he must have the help of Congress. I would say the outlook is pretty dim for maintaining social security as we know it, and providing universal health care, paying for the medical care for all Americans. Does that mean that mean undocumented visitors as well?
