CÓRDOBA, Argentina—The audience in Stadium Orfeo witnessed the performance of world-renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts one last time in Cordoba on Saturday night, July 18.

Among them was Mr. Del Corro, a painter and a sculptor, who was highly impressed with the Shen Yun performance. Mr. Del Corro has been teaching painting and sculpture and other subjects at the Provincial School of Arts for 27 years.

“Marvelous! A profound emotion, the rebirth of the deepest beliefs of far reaching realms, on the most sacred which also exists in the roots of our America and in the roots of Christianity, in the roots of the true cultures,” Mr. Del Corro said.

“I share all the mysticism, all the spirituality, and I try to live it at all times. It has been a long time that I am immersed in these values; I share this completely.”

The guiding mission of Shen Yun Performing Arts is to rediscover and renew humanity’s true, rightful cultural heritage. The company creates and performs works that center upon the true, divinely bestowed culture of humankind.

Mr. Del Corro said that through the show, he sees “the rebirth of an ancient beauty” and that the show comes to the rescue of traditions essential to all cultures during “these times of barbaric technology and pre-eminence of money upon all values.”

“Interests cannot be above the values of a true culture. Values should take precedence over interests. This is a point of view that is very clear to me; I see clearly that this is what is being rescued in this show. I think it is extraordinary!”

Mr. Del Corro said he enjoyed all aspects of the show and found it hard to choose a favorite part, but said he particularly enjoyed the “exquisite” music and vocal performances, the “perfection” in the dances, and the beautiful colors.

“Since I am a painter, I have been surprised by the perfection of the colors, the harmony reached with all the colors. About the dance, I can’t say whether one part was superior compared to another, but all are on a superior level, that is how I think.”

He said that the show carries many values and that he feels strengthened after watching it.

“It revived my hope,” he said, citing the dance The Loyalty of Yui Fei as an example.

Yue Fei lived in the twelfth century during the Southern Song Dynasty. It is said that as a young man his mother tattooed four Chinese characters on his back in preparation for battle, which read “serve the country loyally.” Yue Fei left his native village to lead troops to numerous victories, earning acclaim for brilliant military strategies and feats. This piece portrays traditional Chinese values of loyalty to one’s country and filial piety.

“That is a message especially for the youth. The youth has been born on a specific land, with a specific culture, in a society that with its own strength and idealism, has to save itself,” he said.

Mr. Del Corro said as a professor of Arts, he would recommend the show not only to his students, but also all students of the country, “especially to the artists so that they could connect with this infinite depth of spiritual order that the oriental arts contain.

“I would say that Argentines should stop watching those cheap shows and ones with pornography and should understand that there are values in the universal culture. Each one of us should resolve to look and to cultivate, otherwise, we fall in the destruction of the being or person. It is lamentable, this is what today’s society is suffering. There is a great emptiness.”

Shen Yun Touring Company will next perform in Westchester, New York for one night only, on August 2.
