Shen Yun Performing Arts
CÓRDOBA, Argentina—A feast of traditional Chinese culture was on display with the Shen Yun Performing Arts first performance at Córdoba’s Estadio Orfeo on July 16.

Mr. Busquets, an engineer, had many good things to say. “Actually the coordination is stunning, the telling of the stories through the dances, and the colors, the costumes are stunning.”

Ms. Guelpe, a designer for a famous fashion brand in Argentina, also said she loved it. “Really very good, I loved it; I have never listened to this kind of thing, but I thought it was very, very good.”

Classical Chinese dance has as its foundation China’s divinely inspired culture of five thousand years, with the ethnic and story-based dances bringing heroic figures to life.

Mr. Busquets thought the dancing was spectacular. “Excellent, excellent, the coordination that they have, the gracefulness and agility, the way they manipulate the colors is spectacular.”

Ms. Guelpe said she has never seen a show like this before and marveled over the costumes and colors. “I think that they are fantastic, totally fitting, you know. ... these are colors that we are not accustomed to here in Argentina—the costuming was very, very appealing to me.”

She added that the technically innovative 3D backdrops impressed her. “I really loved the digital screen because it ... draws you a little more inside the scene, because you have penetrated more into the scene.”

She also enjoyed the variety of dances. “I very much like the last part [before intermission,] the part that ends with the drums [Drummers of the Tang Court], and I really liked the dance with chopsticks [Chopstick Zest]—very, very good."

Ms. Guelpe said that Shen Yun is a show that conveys freshness, and that both she and Mr. Busquets would surely and undoubtedly recommend the show.

Shen Yun Performing Arts has one more show in Cordoba, Argentina, on July 18. After which the company will perform in Westchester, New York, for one night only, on August 2.
