U.S. Says Zelaya Wise Not to Return Yet to Honduras

WASHINGTON—Ousted Honduras President Manuel Zelaya made a "wise" decision to postpone his return to his country, a senior Obama administration official said Wednesday.

The official said it was important that the Organization of American States be given an opportunity to attempt to find a diplomatic solution to the problem in Honduras before Zelaya tries to return to his country.

IADB Says Pausing Loans to Honduras Over Coup

SANTIAGO—The Inter-American Development Bank is pausing all new loans to Honduras until democracy is restored in the Central American country, the president of the multilateral lender said on Wednesday.

"We hope there is a way to return to democracy," Luis Alberto Moreno said in Chile about a military coup in Honduras on Sunday that has been widely condemned by the international community.
