| Michael Jackson was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon after suffering from a cardiac arrest, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The singer was 50 years old. Jackson was without a pulse when paramedics arrived at his home earlier in the day. CPR was performed and he was rushed to UCLA Medical Center where he was unable to be revived. Jackson was scheduled to perform a comeback world tour starting in London on July 13 this year and running until March 2010. The singer’s health has been an issue in previous years, but doctors were optimistic about his return to the stage. Jackson, who was dubbed the “King of Pop” was best known for hit singles such as “Beat It” and “Billie Jean.” His eclectic dance moves such as the moonwalk and robot set him apart also as a great performer. The album "Thriller" is the best-selling album of all time, according to Billboard magazine, selling over 100 million copies.
