Quitting the Chinese Communist Party

NEW YORK—Joy Zhou from Boston is a volunteer who helps Chinese in mainland China to publish statements of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on tuidang.com. Like tens of thousands of other volunteers around the world, she regularly makes phone calls to China and tells people about channels to denounce the CCP. When she was in New York for a parade in support of the “Quitting the CCP” movement on June 6, she told a reporter two stories about how eagerly many Chinese are seeking ways to break away from the CCP.

Story #1: Falun Gong is Good

Once, Zhou telephoned a mother and daughter in Nanjing, asking if they would like to quit the CCP.  The mother and the daughter, without a second’s hesitation, said they would quit Communist Youth League. “We hate the CCP,” they said, “We just can’t stand it anymore.”

They mentioned that they had heard a lot about the CCP’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong, a peaceful exercise and spiritual teaching based on the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.” They received documentary-style DVDs and good luck charms distributed to them by Falun Gong practitioners. They carry the charms with them, and said they wanted everyone to know that Falun Gong is good.

A Beijing resident said he appreciates the truths and authentic Chinese culture that Falun Gong practitioners bring to ordinary Chinese. He said he particularly loved the Divine Performing Arts music and dance show which brings to life the true cultural essence of China. A communism-stained culture, he said, is stifling.

Story #2: Yearning for the Truth

Zhou once talked to a CCP member who didn’t agree to quit at first. Then Zhou started to tell him about the truth of the self-immolation incident allegedly involving two Falun Gong practitioners at Tiananmen Square. The man became very excited and said he should tell the story to his senior Party official friends. When Zhou called him again as he asked, he told Zhou that everyone was very surprised upon hearing this information.  He said, ‘This is something that everyone on the face of the Earth needs to know. Now I know Falun Gong is the greatest!”

Zhou said she volunteered to spread truths to China because she wishes to help her fellow Chinese to break the CCP controlled propaganda and see the CCP for what it really is. It is also an effort to save the true cultural heritage of China, she said, because the communist ideology has been destroying and suppressing the most precious things in the ancient Chinese civilization.
