5 a.m. June 4th 1989--Beijing: Special Forces soldiers in camouflage uniforms rush the Hero's Memorial, driving off students.
6:20 a.m. June 4th, 1989--As Fang Zheng and other classmates were fleeing Tiananmen Square, he turned back to save a female student. He ended up with both of his legs crushed by a tank. After June 4th, he recovered and won two gold medals in a national disabled persons' athletic competition. His credentials to compete in international events were revoked due to his involvement in the June 4th protest.
June 4th 1989--Where there is oppression, there will be revolt. The morning of June 4th, 1989, soldiers were still shooting on Chang An Street. Beijing citizens fought back heroically. The picture shows wounded citizens lying on Chang An Street and others helping the wounded.
June 4th--A rickshaw driver, with the help of bystanders, fiercely pedals wounded people to a nearby hospital. Soldiers again fired hundreds of rounds towards crowds gathered outside Tiananmen Square.
June 4th 1989--Many June 4th victim died of being shot by hollow-point bullets, which were prohibited internationally. Recently military surgeon Dr. Jiang Yanyong confirmed that the troops used the hollow-point bullets in their attack.

Early on the morning of June 4 the People’s Liberation Army attacked.
According to the official death toll hundreds died. The official count is widely believed to be understated. The true number of those killed is believed to be several thousand.
June 7th--Crowds of curious Being residents gather to look at the military hardware in Tiananmen Square.
June 7th--Soldiers are stationed around the Hero's Memorial in the Tiananmen Square. Tank tracks are still visible on the steps of the Hero's Memorial.
June 15th--Beijing city workers scrub the martyr's monument in Tiananmen Square. The monument was the rallying point for students during their demonstration.
June 4th--Demonstrators line up outside the Chinese Embassy in Washington. Demonstrators were protesting the killing of students in China by government troops.
June 5th--The great rally in Macau to condemn the Beijing Government for the massacre of unarmed Chinese protesters.
In addition thousands were injured and thousands were arrested.
For the moment, the calls for ending corruption, honoring human rights, establishing the rule of law, and instituting democracy were stilled in China.
