Eutelsat Blocks NTDTV in China

Mr. Jia Jia, the former Secretary General of the Science and Technology Association of Shanxi Province and  now Vice President of the Transitional Government of China, said in an interview with New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) that Eutelsat’s continued shutdown of the NTDTV and  Sound of Hope Radio signals to Asia actually helps the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) suppress the Chinese people. The shutdown closes the only window that mainland Chinese have which allows them to listen to different voices.

CCP Information Blockade and Media Control

NTDTV's and the Sound of Hope Radio signals are transmitted to Asia and China via the Eutelsat W5 Asia Beam which is based in France. The Chinese regime has allegedly instructed Eutelsat to remove NTDTV from—in spite of Eutelsat’s agreement (legal contract) with NTDTV.

Mr. Jia pointed out that the CCP has survived many crises within the past 59 years through its information blockade and media control. In order to maintain its dictatorship, the CCP has been deceiving the Chinese people by blocking the flow of information. Even ordinary Chinese say that the only thing that is true of the CCP newspaper is the date of the newspaper is published.

Mr. Jia said, “Those of us eager to know any real information when we were young, had to risk our lives to listen to the so-called ‘enemy radio stations.’ It’s not just me. All Chinese are hungry for  real news. Anyone who ever lived in mainland China knows that only one voice, the voice of the CCP, can be heard no matter how many TV stations there are. That’s why NTDTV, as the only uncensored TV station, has received such a warm welcome  throughout China.”

“NTDTV meets the needs of the Chinese people who have been longing for the real news for a long time. Instead of watching the annual Spring Festival Show organized by the CCP, people in mainland China now quietly purchase receiving antennas to watch the Chinese New Year Spectacular Show performed by the Divine Performing Arts compnay. The uncensored overseas media, such as NTDTV, The Epoch Times and the Sound of Hope Radio, provide the only channels for people in the mainland to get to know the real news. Of course, the CCP wants to block them.”

“2008 is the critical year for the Chinese people to eliminate the CCP. By shutting down the only television channel (NTDTV) with unfiltered information, Eutelsat is actually in collusion with the CCP to persecute the Chinese people. I regret this kind of thing happened in a democratic country (France). Eutelsat just couldn’t resist the temptation of the huge economic interests. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell Eutelsat that the CCP era is about to end. This follows God’s will. I hope Eutelsat will mend its ways and take on its social responsibility to support the Chinese people in achieving democracy and justice. I urge Eutelsat to immediately resume NTDTV’s broadcasts.”

“Since I fled China, the CCP has also used  economic interests to try to bribe  local authorities. It spent a lot of money, placed many agents, and even used the military to try to force me to be repatriated back to China. However, it failed every time because the political forces around the world united to fight back. The CCP is most afraid of international condemnation. I believe Eutelsat will soon resume NTDTV’s transmission to China if the international political forces unite to appeal for NTDTV.”
