Spring is here, and it’s time for spring hair. Make yourself feel great after a long winter of hats and scarves, and get a new hair do and a nice conditioning treatment to bring the shine out and the bounce back. Go Short
How about a bob cut? This is not a style restricted to kindergarten girls. It can be a really elegant, sophisticated look, yet easy to wear and style. It works for any age. It’ll be light and cool for the hot months.
Here are a few ideas from Katie Holmes, who over the last year or two has sported most of the most flattering short bob styles. Other than a flattering cut, the key to making Katie’s styles really pop is the incredible, red carpet shine. Try a conditioning treatment once a month at home this summer to combat swimmer's hair.
Breathe Life Into Long Locks

PERFECT WAVES: Jennifer Lopez gets it right. The key to making this look great—the waves start at cheek level. You need some lift on the top to balance the fullness of the waves. Use a large round brush and a blow dryer. (Bryan Bedder/Getty Images)

DAY: Throw in some big hoop earrings, apply bold eye makeup to finish, and this is a stunning casual look for the day. (Toru Yamanaka/AFP/Getty Images)

AND NIGHT: For the evening, Lopez has smoothed her hair out and added some serious shine, and it looks totally glamorous. (Bryan Bedder/Getty Images)

BANGS WITH BUN: Jessica Alba shows us how to wear the bangs up and elegant for the evening. This is so sleek. (Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty Images)
Because humidity brings out curls, wavy styles are easier to maintain than pin-straight hair in sticky weather. So, how ‘bout a perm? Tight curls will give you a more edgy look, or more subtle waves will bring some life to your long hair.
Long With More Bang
Keep your locks long, yet totally change your look. How ‘bout some bangs? This look is so hip right now. Not too short though, the look is right on top of the eyebrow, drawing lots of attention to the eyes, and doesn’t look childish (short bangs do). If the bangs are not too wide, the long hair will fall down the side of the eyes, narrowing a round face. A long face can pull off wider bangs.
For the day, let it all hang loose and light. If it’s too warm, gather your hair back in a loose, low bun with some hair falling down the side of the bangs in front of your ears to keep it looking casual.
Jennifer Lopez has got this look just right (as usual). The bangs are cut framing the eyes, and falling softly longer down the side of her face graduating into the full length of her hair. She has got volume on top, and the length has been thinned out and layered towards the bottom.
