During the United Nations Human Rights Council Hearing in Geneva, a letter by renowned Chinese human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng was published. The letter described in great detail the circumstances of his kidnapping and the 50 days of torture he endured at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after Gao’s public letter to the U.S. Congress on Sept. 23, 2007.

A few days ago, Gao was again kidnapped by the CCP in a covert operation. His whereabouts is currently unknown.

In 2008, Sound of Hope Radio (SOH) reported inside information regarding Gao’s torture after one of Gao’s friends provided to SOH a recording of Gao describing his feelings and emotions to friends and family after the persecution he suffered at the hands of the CCP.

SOH said they intend to continue paying close attention to both attorney Gao’s whereabouts and any details about the CCP’s illegal and inhumane torture against him. They will immediately broadcast any relevant information to the international communities, governments, human rights organizations and the general public.

The following is a portion of the transcript of Gao Zhisheng’s voice recording that SOH Radio received:

Gao Zhisheng: “They came to ask me to go outside … the CCP…Guess what they said? It was the first time the Pubic Security Bureau saw me. They said that this does not represent the opinion of the CCP or the government. I said that I would only believe you if I were an animal. Any person with a brain in his head would know that this is related to the Party and the government. Who dare to treat me in such ways without orders from the CCP? Moreover, the CCP and you are aware of what is going on, and there is no punishment against those who conduct these crimes.”

“At the time there was a high ranking officer who was notified about this, and he visited me. My body was threadbare. I said, ‘Look at the color of my body, there isn’t a normal patch of skin anywhere.’ He stood up and said, ‘This is astonishing. But it does not represent the opinions of the Party or the government.’ I said, ‘This is so evil. If you allow this to happen, you are no different from the evildoers. You were still skeptical over the topic in my three public letters about the persecution of Falun Gong, do you still believe that it is false?’ He said nothing.”

“This time I held out longer, about 50 days or so. The last days were better, at least he let me eat and drink. On the 23rd day he began to allow me to brush my teeth and wash my face.”

“A few days ago I said to them, ‘To the second before I die, I would never forget this experience.’ This is not like some … procedure … you really can’t forget it. Sometimes I recall the experience when I go to sleep, or when I wash the dishes.”

“I’m not saying how bad the evil impact was on me. I’m just so horrified that something like this can happen so boldly in China. Moreover, these are the people who say that they represent China, the government, and the people. This is the most horrible.”
