Mike Ribeiro and James Neal each recorded two goals as the Stars blitzed backup Rangers goalie Steve Valiquette in their highest scoring output of the season.
It was the sixth triumph in seven games for Dallas (25-19-7), who had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
"The confidence is high, but the accountability we have for each other is higher," Stars winger Steve Ott told reporters, after extending his points streak to seven games.
"Every single line, every single player on this team is holding each other accountable. That's something we have to keep continuing."
The Stars returned to form in style, ending the game with seven unanswered goals.
Ribeiro gave Dallas a 4-2 lead at 18:15 in the second period, and the Stars owned the third, needing just nine shots to get goals from Jere Lehtinen, Fabian Brunnstrom, Ott, Darryl Sydor and two from Neal.
Stars netminder Marty Turco chipped in 20 saves.
New York's Nikolai Zherdev opened the game with a goal at 3:35 and added another in the second period, but the Rangers could not stop the onslaught and Valiquette absorbed all the scoring.
All-Star starting goalie Henrik Lundqvist missed the contest because of the flu. Defenseman Paul Mara (flu) and Dmitri Kalinin (sore back) also sat out.
The Rangers gifted Dallas a man advantage with 30 penalty minutes and the Stars made it count with five of their goals coming on the powerplay.
"This is a big loss, there's no question about that," Rangers coach Tom Renney said.
"But 3-2 or 10-2, a loss is a loss. The one thing we can't do is hide behind a low-scoring game this time around.
"We got hammered."
The Rangers (29-19-5), second in the Atlantic Division, lost their season-high fourth straight.
