NEW YORK—It is undeniably wintertime, there is snow on the ground, ice on the streets, and everyone is bundled up in heavy coats, hats, and scarves.

Though there can be a certain drudgery to the colder months, with transit delays, grey slush in the streets, and the bitter cold around every corner, there are also many unique and beautiful moments to be had in the cold short days and long winter nights of winter.

Anne Foulke, 30, Harlem, Communications: “I like the feel of warm air off of a hot cup of coffee on a chilly morning.” ()

Be it the sparkling glint of ice cycles in the sun, a cheery snowman on a neighbor’s lawn, or the thrill of a speedy sled on a steep hill, the finer moments of winter can make for lasting memories.

The Epoch Times took the streets to ask: “What is your favorite thing about winter?”
