A number of users are complaining about the iOS 7 draining their iPhone’s battery after downloading Apple’s latest OS yesterday.

On Twitter, users complained that the new operating system is draining the life of their batteries.

Citing its own findings, Ars Technica reported that devices that upgraded from the iOS 6 to iOS 7 saw decreases in battery life. And according to the Atlantic Wire, the battery drain was more problematic on the iPad.

IMore.com gave a few tips to save on battery life. “As soon as you get a new version of iOS - or a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch! - it’s only natural you won’t be able to put it down,” it writes.

It also suggests that users should plug it in, turn off what they aren’t using, check for certain software problems.

Users can also turn off features like the iPod EQ, extra sounds including keyboard noises, setting their Auto-Lock to 1 minute, using headphones instead of their built-in speakers, turning down screen brightness, and turning off Bluetooh as well as Wi-Fi.

If users are “desperate,” Airplane Mode is an option, it said.

Regarding the issues with Mailbox, it wrote on Twitter: “Restarting your device should resolve this. Seems to be an issue with new iOS 7 upgrades. We’re looking into it now.” It is unclear if there is a fix with Gmail.

And many users derided the icons, but as of right now, there is no alternative.

The issues with Sync are due to the high demand for the new OS, and the problem can be fixed by waiting.
