Rep. Michele Bachmann has led a group of veterans into the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

The veterans entered the memorial on Tuesday--despite “government shutdown” barriers--with the help of multiple elected officials, many of them Republican.

Despite park police trying to block off the memorial on Wednesday, the veterans are back in.

“They’re not gonna lock you up, brother. They’re going to have to get through me first,” Bachmann told a veteran, reported Ryan Reilly of the Huffington Post.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) and Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill) are also at the memorial.

“Park police are strategically positioned far away from where the vets are entering. No sign they'll stop any of this,” reported Leo Shane of Stars & Stripes.

Shane said that per a Park Police announcement, Honor Flight veterans are now permitted access to the memorial regardless of the shutdown.

“Even under #hustdown rules, ‘1st amendment activities’ are allowed at closed memorials,” he said. “Definition is murky. Honor Flight visits count now.”
