Rob Ford said he will not resign in another crack cocaine-related announcement at City Hall on Tuesday, saying he is “forever sorry” and he has “nothing left to hide.” Ford called on voters to cast their ballot in October 2014 when he is up for re-election.

“I know I embarrassed everyone in the city and I will be forever sorry; there is only one person to blame for this and that is myself,” he said, adding that admitting his mistake was the “right thing to do.”

Ford, the mayor of Toronto, added that the “past is the past and we must move forward ...

Ford also said he kept the crack smoking from his family and staff members.

The announcement comes after Ford publicly admitted to smoking crack cocaine.

“Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine,” Ford told reporters Tuesday, The Associated Press reported.

He added: “There have been times when I’ve been in a drunken stupor. That’s why I want to see the tape. I want everyone in the city to see this tape. I don’t even recall there being a tape or video. I want to see the state that I was in.”

On Tuesday, John Filion and Paul Ainslie, two Toronto Councillors, submitted a motion to suspend some of Ford’s powers, as the council cannot strip a mayor of power.
