Accessing information via mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) is all the rage. Having a mobile device is as commonplace as having a car.
What’s so neat about mobile devices? Well, you can be anywhere and still be connected to social networks, browse stores, research products, and the list of capabilities goes on and on.
This past holiday season saw many more consumers using their mobile devices to shop. Of course, women had a higher propensity of using their mobile devices to make a purchase than men. But, the fact remains, many mobile users were actively using their devices over the holiday shopping season. These shoppers were accessing the Web either using Internet browsers or apps. It’s clear that mobile offers convenience to shoppers.
When developing marketing plans, small-business owners should keep in mind that consumers are gaining information and comparative price shopping with their devices. Of course, there are those consumers who still prefer the old-fashioned method of making a purchase in stores because of online security concerns.
Business owners should understand that as the technology for these devices continues to expand, their usage will increase as a mode to make purchases. One fact to consider is that younger consumers have a tendency to lean toward and engage technology daily.
Therefore, you should capitalize on this behavior to maximize your ability to increase your revenue. Remember: mobile is vital prime real estate for marketing tactics that engage consumers. Take the time to consider how this important trend can become a part of your 2012 marketing plans.
