The annual Vanity Fair after Oscar party started with an elegant dinner for 150 guests. More guests arrived at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles throughout the night.

Jennifer Lawrence, actress and winner of an Oscar in The Best Leading Actress category for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook,” directed by David Russell, was stunning once again—this time in a silver figure hugging dress.

In 2011, Lawrence had a major boost in her career after she played the role of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games.” The film set a record in 2012 by earing $152.5 million in its opening three days for a non-sequel film, making it the third best box office debut in American film history.

Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Her mom ran a children’s summer camp and her dad owned a concrete construction firm.

She acted in local theater and decided at 14 that she wanted a career in acting. Lawrence convinced her parents to take her to New York to find a talent agent.

First, Lawrence played the oldest daughter in “The Bill Engvall Show.”

She had television guest roles in a handful of series. In 2008, Lawrence’s big screen debut was in “The Burning Plain,” with Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger.

Lawrence landed a handful of leading roles in big screen and independent films. In 2011 she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.

Anne Hathaway, actress, won her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Les Miserables.”

“I had a dream,” she told media backstage after she won the award. “And it came true. And that can happen. And that’s wonderful. And that’s all I was saying. And it can. And it did. Excuse me, that’s not articulate,” she said.

Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York City, NY. She acted in stage roles until she appeared in the 1999 television series “Get Real.”

She played the lead role in “The Princess Diaries,” “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” and “Ella Enchanted.”

Soon, Hathaway was appearing in leading and supporting roles in numerous feature films. She was in “Brokeback Mountain,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Becoming Jane,” and “Rachel Getting Married,” which she was nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress in 2008. Hathaway played Cat Women in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
