LOS ANGELES—Edward O’Franchaus, a host for a daily astrological show on the Telemundo division of NBC Universal, was in the audience for the July 8 performance of Shen Yun at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center in Los Angeles.

“I absolutely adored the show,” said Mr. O’Franchaus. “I was amazed. I was expecting something good, and it was beyond my expectations. It was beautiful, long and yet you never felt it. The messages were beautiful, the colors, the schemes, the pathos, the mellow energy, the yin and the yang, you could see the changes. … The harmony and synchronicity … I guess I’m touched by the message." He said the company was bringing "a message to us from the wisdom of the ages.”

Mr. O’Franchaus continued on the theme of wisdom he had taken from Shen Yun, saying, "The message is to really stay in the present time and be at peace and content and detached. This was great. When we do the next year [of the TV show] I would like to have some of the elements included in our show. It’s just absolutely beautiful. Beautiful, touching, inspiring, elation and yet calm." He wished the artists good luck, and said he was very grateful for the experience.

'It was great'

Isaac Toveg and his wife Mahnaz were also in the audience Thursday evening, and they too said they felt the beauty of Shen Yun.

Mr. Toveg said: “It was great, colorful, exciting and interesting. The movement, the way they dance and everything that they did was just perfect.”

Ms. Toveg said that she found the show to be a meditative experience. “Everything was so even and beautiful. Plus, I am so happy that I had a lot of meditation during the show. I could meditate during the music and dance. It was great, beautiful,” she said.
