Shen Yun Moves VP of the Alliance for Freedom

DAEGU, South Korea—Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company gave its first performance of a series on Jan. 21 in Daegu, which it has visited annually since 2008. The audience filled the Suseong Artpia and immersed themselves in the ancient Chinese civilization.

Won Sung-Su, Vice President of the Alliance for Freedom, was amazed by the scenes of deities traveling between heaven and earth. The scenes touched his heart.

A friend of Mr. Won introduced Shen Yun to him. Won was excited about being able to see the essence of Chinese history and culture. He said he was reminded of stories from his younger days and, "The celestial maidens came from heaven and back, I rarely see anything like that.

“It was magical and splendid!”

“I am most impressed by the scene when Gods landed from Heaven. That scene of God’s world touched me in an unspeakable way. It felt like a dream,” Mr. Won said.

This was the first time he enjoyed Chinese culture in such a performance. He said he would like to learn more about Chinese culture.

After watching the New York-based show, Mr. Won experienced a connection between the Chinese and Korean cultures. “Our history is a branch of the 5,000-year-old Chinese history. I could feel that our ancestors inherited some of the 5,000-years of Chinese culture,” he said.

Mr. Won said that he would share his joy in the theatrical event with many people. He told many to see the show. He also bought tickets for his relatives’ children because he believed there was educational value in the performance.
