BUSAN, South Korea—Shen Yun Performing Arts ended its debut run in South Korea with a performance that touched many audience members on a deep level.

Asuko Park was one of them. A professor of Tourism and Management at Tongmyung College, Ms. Park attended the Busan Cultural Center on Jan. 20. She was amazed by the comprehensive manifestation of the five-thousand-year of traditional Chinese culture on the stage.

“This is the first time a performance truly shocked me,” Ms. Park said. “I felt breath-taking beauty the minute the curtain went up. I have seen a lot of performances overseas and in Korea but they were nothing like the show today. It penetrates through my whole body like electric current.”

While watching the performance, at one moment she felt like she was actually in heaven, “I wish everyone could experience this feeling when they get to watch the show. I will introduce this show to more friends.”

Ms. Park thought highly of the essence of Chinese culture Shen Yun presented on the stage, “The five-thousand years of history was put on a 21st-century stage. Well done! The background was presented in such a beautiful way that I could feel the charm of China immediately.”

“The overall compilation of the show was unique and refreshing. The stage background, costumes, lyrics and music conveyed the message that provokes people’s yearning for heaven.”

The two friends who came to the show with Ms. Park are both singers and were impressed with the song lyrics. “[They] were like poems that can make us introspect how we should live our lives in the 21st century,” MS. Park said. “The lyrics gave us the idea that we should live with a pure mind as if we were in heaven.”

Besides the visual beauty, Ms. Park also felt the hard work put into the performance by the Shen Yun artists. “The show is an outcome of painstaking efforts. It can only be achieved by a lot of hard work and the coordination of all artists. Here I cheer for their unlimited potential in the future!”
