BERLIN—Renowned Romanian tenor, Mr. Nedelescu, was deeply moved by the musical component of Shen Yun performing Arts during their final show in Germany for the 2009 World Tour. "I'm very touched, I am leaving with a lot of music in my soul and my heart. Tonight's show has touched us deeply".
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Mr. Nedelescu began his musical education at the age of five. This included learning the piano and singing for the Bucharest children's radio and in the children's choir. He then moved to Germany in 1984 where he continued his involvement in the music industry to become a renowned tenor.
During the show, Mr. Nedelescu had the pleasure of watching another tenor, Hong Ming (name meaning 'grand voice'), sing "Calmness in Knowing," a solo performance. Mr. Nedelescu thought that Hong Ming's performance was well-rounded, as it possessed a combination of both technique and heartfelt passion. "It had a good feeling. No matter what the singer sings, the tenor presented great skill in his art, not only from the viewpoint of the singing, but also from his wisdom and from his human side. The Chinese should be proud of him. He has an outstanding voice. I truly liked him tremendously, and will personally congratulate him tonight if I have the chance to meet him."
Mr. Nedelescu also recognized what the performance was bringing people universal principles such as dignity, truth, and compassion were present in the music and dances. "Today's performance showed much humanity, much truth that came from the heart and from feeling. The audience responded well to this. This evening brought much to our psyche. I wish that the tradition of the Chinese people continues to be on the path of truth. One must always learn to call truth by its real name. Everyone should aspire to bring out the best in everyone else."
During the VIP reception after the show, which Mr. Nedelescu attended, he found the opportunity to meet Mr. Hong Ming. To express his thanks, he spontaneously broke out in song with Mr. Ming, an impromptu rendition of the Italian folk song, "O Sole Mio." The other VIP's were delighted and applauded heartily. It truly was a beautiful finale for the Shen Yun artists on their 2009 tour.
On leaving, Mr. Nedelescu thanked and congratulated the performers; "I congratulate you again for a successful evening. For me this was truly special. I lack words to describe it. One never can truly describe the stories, the entire art in words, or in the way it was presented to the audience. Unique. I'm delighted that I could be present."
